Privacy Policy

This policy covers two things run by Confident Prep ("we", "us"): the website confidentprep.com, and Confident Prep YouTube Publisher, our tool for managing the Confident Prep YouTube channel. It explains what information each collects, how it is used, stored and shared, and how to have it removed.

Confident Prep YouTube Publisher

Confident Prep YouTube Publisher is used only by the Confident Prep team, on the Confident Prep YouTube channel. When the channel owner connects the channel through Google and approves access, the app receives the permissions below and uses each one only for the purpose listed.

Google and YouTube data the app accesses

• View your YouTube account (youtube.readonly) — reads the channel's name and ID, its videos, playlists, captions and comments, so the app knows what is already published and does not create duplicates.
• View YouTube Analytics reports (yt-analytics.readonly) — reads views, watch time and similar statistics for the channel's videos, to see which lessons are useful. No revenue data is requested.
• Manage your YouTube videos (youtube.upload) — uploads new videos and sets their title, description, tags and thumbnail.
• See, edit and delete your YouTube content (youtube.force-ssl) — updates existing videos' details, visibility and release schedule, manages playlists and captions, replies to comments, and removes videos when asked.

How the app uses this data

Only to publish and manage videos on the channel that granted access, and to report the channel's statistics back to the Confident Prep team. The app makes no change to the channel until a person has reviewed and approved it. The data is not used for advertising, not sold, not used to build profiles of viewers, and not used to train AI models.

Where it is stored and how it is protected

• Google access tokens are kept in the operating system's encrypted keychain on the Confident Prep team's computer, never in files or source code.
• Channel, video, statistics and comment data are kept in a private database on that same computer. It is not uploaded to any other server.
• All requests to Google are made over encrypted connections (HTTPS).

Sharing

Google and YouTube data is not shared with, sold to or transferred to anyone. It goes only between the app and Google's own YouTube services.

Keeping and deleting it

Data is kept only while the app is connected to the channel. As YouTube's policies require, stored YouTube data is refreshed from YouTube or deleted at least every 30 days. If access is removed, all stored Google and YouTube data, including the access tokens, is deleted within 30 days. You can remove the app's access at any time from your Google Account permissions page, or ask us to delete the data by emailing [email protected].

YouTube API Services and Google's rules

Confident Prep YouTube Publisher uses YouTube API Services. By using it you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Confident Prep YouTube Publisher's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Information we collect

• Email address — when you subscribe, register for a live cohort or create an account.
• Learning progress — quiz answers and certificates, if you have an account.
• Usage data — pages visited, browser type and approximate location, collected through Google Analytics and our own server logs.

Signing in with Google

Every course on this site can be read without an account. Signing in only saves your own quiz progress and certificates. When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and profile picture, and nothing else from your Google account. Your first sign-in is a request: we review it, and you can sign in once we approve it, which we tell you by email. Your quiz answers, progress and certificates are kept by our learning service, quiz-wizard, which runs on our own server. If you delete your account, we delete your name, email address, quiz progress and certificates, here and in quiz-wizard.

How we use it

• To send the emails you asked for, such as new projects and live class schedules.
• To save your progress and issue certificates.
• To understand which pages are useful and improve the site.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Sharing

We share website information only with services that help us run the site — email delivery, hosting and analytics — and only as much as they need to do that job, or when the law requires it.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies to keep your account session and for Google Analytics. You can block cookies in your browser; the site will still work, but some account features may not work.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your information while your subscription or account is active. Every email has an unsubscribe link. To see, correct or delete your data, email us and we will act within 30 days.

Children

Confident Prep is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
